Executive Women's Golf Association's 
Hosts 9th Annual Conference

Executive Women's Golf AssociationPALM BEACH GARDENS, FL.  The Executive Women's Golf Association (EWGA) will host the ninth annual conference and golf championship at the Kiawah Island Resort. The golf championship is the largest amateur women's golf tournament in the world. Presented by Office Depot and slated for November 8-12, 2000, the conference will attract businesswomen throughout the United States and Canada.

The conference offers an abundance of golf and social activities for players of every ability level. The event also provides an ideal environment for international networking. The five-day event includes a myriad of golf tournaments, include a flighted 36-hole individual and net championship finals, the Chapter scramble championship, an 18-hole stroke play tournament, 18 hole scramble, a two-woman best ball team challenge, and hundreds of rounds of optional golf on Kiawah's five championship courses.

In addition, the EWGA will offer two days of leadership seminars hosted by their Corporate Leadership Partner, American Express, and will be presenting several leadership awards at the annual awards dinner on Saturday night. Other social activities include a sunset, low country oyster roast with a bluegrass band along the banks of the Kiawah River on Wednesday, a welcome dinner on Thursday, and a Friday night EWGA Expo with live entertainment.

"Our members couldn't be more excited about heading to Kiawah for this fun event. We anticipate another sell-out as in the past three years," commented Sara Hume, Executive Director of the EWGA.

Home of the 1991 Ryder Cup, the 1997 World Cup of Golf and the 1999 South Carolina's Women's Amateur, Kiawah Island Resort is one of the premier golfing destinations in the United States. The resort is home to three courses in Golf Digest's Top 75 resort courses, and Golf Digest has named Kiawah Island a "Top 50" places to play for women. Currently Golf Digest Women has ranked The Ocean Course 12th best and Osprey Point 28th best courses for women to play in North America.

The Executive Women's Golf Association was formed in July 1991, to provide a welcoming environment for women to learn and enjoy the game, and to foster a spirit of dignity, acceptance and respect for women golfers. The organization now has 93 chapters and over 13,000 members in the U.S. and Canada.
