Online Career center turns corner on
profitability after one year
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA.( December 9,
2001)WomenSportsJobs.com has reported four consecutive quarters of increased
sales. One of several online brands under the umbrella of Women'Sports
Services, the site was not expected to turn a profit until 2003. A year ahead
of projections the online sports career center for women has seen its sales
increase an average of 80% a quarter since its launch in October, 2000.
Created in a partnership with Franklin Covey & Sports Careers, the
comprehensive site includes a national job listing database, resume support,
career resources, profiles, events calendar, online newsletter, chat rooms,
and a news component, the Women'Sports Wire. Developmental phases are underway
for an improved resume database and women's sports oriented store.
The site is receiving half a million hits a month and signing up over 300
women a month for it's online newsletter, which lists "Hot Sports Jobs of
the Week". "We are very pleased with the interest in our site from
both our customers and our corporate partners. We look forward to doing more
to support the interest of women in sports related careers, said Becky
Heidesch, CEO."
