    HighWired Sports Magazine Announces
New Online Initiatives

HighWired SportsHUNTINGTON BEACH, CA.  Recently in an acquisition, All-Stater Sports magazine was changed to HighWired Sports Magazine . With the same editorial team and the same mission the new publication is announcing several new initiatives, which the company believes, will signal a new age in the high school experience.  Besides the new name, the company is announcing a new website (HighWiredSports.com), new editorial network, and an expanding global community.

All-Stater Sports, known as America’s leading high school sports magazine, almanac and Web site and HighWired.com, the world’s largest community of online high schools, with a network of almost 9,000 schools spanning all 50 states and 61 countries have combined the strengths of the two companies to uniquely positioned itself in the online education marketplace.  “This firmly establishes HighWired.com as the most comprehensive high school sports destination and provides a solid foundation for our continuing growth”, said Don Young, president and CEO of HighWired.com.

The new website, HighWiredSports.com replaced AllStater.com on August 14 with an explosion in its online reach, with America Online launching its new high school sports coverage with HighWired Sports as its premier provider of news and information. HighWired Sports now provides stories, articles, and game recaps daily, seven days a week, to AOL. The coverage spans the entire country in eight regions, including all of Digital Cities' 58 communities. HighWired Sports welcomes AOL's 23 million households.

As part of the company’s new initiatives, their new editorial network is becoming the definitive source for high school sports news, information, recognition, and support.   The company has hired a number of talented people, including Dave Krider, the dean of high school sports reporting, as the company’s national sports editor. Further support will come from eight outstanding regional editors, an expanded team of contracted on-the-street associate editors and sport-specific recruiting experts, as well as hundreds of on-call writers, from professional stringers to student sports journalists.

The last initiative and probably most significant is their efforts to expand their online global community. Today over 12,000 high schools (more than half in the nation) have at least one free HighWired.com website enhancing communications and opportunities for a classroom, team, or student activity and/or hosting guidance information or the school newspaper online. Harnessing the Internet with exceptional software and easy access, HighWired.com's huge community of interactive high school websites in all 50 states and 71 countries is improving the high school experience globally. Simply stated, high schools wired together in one online community = HighWired.com.

The mission of HighWired.com, is to continue to develop the online tools to assist and support students, parents, teachers, coaches, and athletic directors in their quest for the best possible high school experience. HighWired Sports Magazine and the HighWired Sports national editorial network aim to provide the comprehensive news coverage, good-news reporting, expert analysis, widespread exposure, and dependable, hard-to-find information that high school athletes, parents, coaches, and athletic directors deserve.
