Julie Goldsticker Named 
Media and Public Relations Assistant for USA Boxing
 

 

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. (August 6, 2001).  United States Amateur Boxing has announced the hiring of Julie Goldsticker as Media and Public Relations Assistant.  She will begin her duties with USA Boxing on August 15. 

 

Goldsticker is a 2000 graduate of the University of Texas where she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism.  Most recently, she served an internship with the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in the sports information office.  Prior to that, Goldsticker completed a six-month internship with USA Cycling's communications department.

 

A native of Plano, Texas, Goldsticker will assist in all media and public relations activities related to USA Boxing throughout the United States, including preparation of the quarterly magazine Boxing USA, distribution of press releases and results, and maintenance of USA Boxing's website, www.usaboxing.org.

 

USA Boxing, as the national governing body for Olympic-style boxing, is the United States' member organization of the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA).  As national governing body, USA Boxing is responsible for the administration, development and promotion of Olympic-style boxing in the United States.  Headquartered at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., USA Boxing sponsors a host of programs - from developing the sport and its athletes at the local, regional and national levels, to sponsoring national and international dual competitions and selecting teams for international events, including the Olympic Games, World Championships and Pan American Games.
