Women's Health & Fitness Education Celebration a Winner in BOISE, IDAHO
(December 21, 2001) The International
Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) paid tribute to the Idaho Women's
Health & Fitness Education Celebration (The Celebration 5K Run/Walk &
Women's Show) this year, announcing the organization as the recipient of two
awards in its prestigious Pinnacle Awards competition. The awards were
won in the following categories: GOLD - Best Press/Media Kit; and BRONZE -
Best Website. Sponsored by
Haas & Wilkerson Insurance, the professional competition drew nearly 1,600
entries this year and a record number of participating organizations from
among the world's top festivals and events. Winners were announced on the IFEA
website for the first time ever. "We would like to congratulate all of
our Pinnacle winners for their outstanding entries into this year's
competition," said IFEA President & CEO Steve Schmader, CFE.
"The competition was very stiff this year and the level of
professionalism and number of competing organizations at an all time
high." Established to
acknowledge the marketing and programming efforts of the special events
industry, the Pinnacle Awards recognize the highest levels of quality and
creativity in the promotional programs and materials produced by the IFEA's
3,000 member festivals and events around the world. Entries include posters,
merchandise, websites, print and broadcast ads, volunteer programs, community
outreach programs, and many other categories. Winning
entries came from organizations as diverse as the Fiesta Bowl, Phoenix, Az.;
Cherry Creek Arts Festival, Denver, Co.; Macon, Ga. International Cherry
Blossom Festival; Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Department of Tourism; The Kentucky
Derby Festival, Louisville, Ky.; Ski to Sea Festival, Bellingham, Wa.; and the
Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival at Melody Ranch, Santa Clarita, Ca. International
contenders included such diverse event organizations as the Singapore Tourism
Board; Rotterdam Festivals, The Netherlands; Warrnambool City Council,
Victoria, Australia; and the International Festival Lent, Maribor, Slovenia.
