(March 20, 2001) Women's Bike Racing Spells Mon-e NEW YORK (March 30, 2001) - Announcing the fifth annual Women's Sports Challenge, America's only one-day professional bike race especially for women, on June 9th, 2001. This event draws top American and foreign athletes to compete before thousands of spectators on a beautiful, closed course near Columbia University in New York. Past sponsors include: Diet Coke, Ford, Bicycling Magazine, Conde Nast Women's Sports and Fitness Magazine, Timex, MET-Rx, Claritin, Neutrogena, CoolMax Alta by DuPont, Nissan, Mercury, and Salomon In-line Skates. Women's Sports Challenge introduces a new marketing and sponsorship program which for the first time provides participating race sponsors measurable drive-to-sale capabilities, both online and off-line. In addition to millions of branding impressions from light post banners, tents, race number logos, and posters, sponsors can also be featured on 250,000 limited edition mon-e cards distributed to fans and athletes before and after the event through some 100 sports shop locations in New York City, 25 national level cycling races, 50 Manhattan retailers, and the venue itself. Each Mon-e card carries a unique "mon-e code" which cardholders use to "unleash their mon-e" and diverse promotional offers from the event sponsors. "These new marketing tools allow us to deliver much more to the sponsors than the branding impressions they traditionally get," said Victor Vitelli, Race Director and Founder of Women's Sports Challenge. "Detailed usage and metrics tracking give advertisers unprecedented knowledge about how customers interact with their brands and the lift in sales and traffic attributable to this marketing program." "Advertisers who have been seeking more effective and accountable forms of marketing will expect more for their money after participating in this event," added Lydia Sugarman, Marketing Director for Women's Sports Challenge. "The technologies behind the mon-e cards are complete marketing solutions for advertisers. The Women's Sports Challenge event is an ideal sponsorship opportunity that reaches a highly targeted group of female athletes and their fans," explained Dr. Augustine Fou, CEO of New York based Mon-e.com, Inc.
