In the spirit of the doubleheaders, both the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, which operates Giants Stadium, and the D.C. Sports and Entertainment Commission, which operates RFK Stadium, have made significant efforts to helpfully stage these events.

"The New York Power is privileged to be spearheading, along with the Freedom, MetroStars and DC United, a critical fundraising effort to benefit all those affected by the September 11 tragedy," stated Power General Manager Susan Marenoff.

"We have all been asking what we can do as citizens to help in the relief and recovery effort," said MetroStars General Manager Nick Sakiewicz, "and those of us in this sport believe that the most effective way for us to help is by doing what we do best - by playing games and staging events that will then directly benefit all those who have so unfortunately been affected by this tragedy."

The October 28 doubleheader at Giants Stadium will begin at 4 p.m. with the Power playing the Freedom, followed by a match between the MetroStars and D.C. United. On November 3 at RFK Stadium, the Freedom will play the Power at 5 p.m., followed by D.C. United and the MetroStars.
