Chill Setter Berg Named USPV Outstanding Server OAKBROOK TERRACE IL (April 22, 2002) Minnesota Chill setter Lindsey Berg has been named United States Professional Volleyball (USPV) Outstanding Server for the 2002 Inaugural Season. Berg, a former standout at the University of Minnesota, averaged a league-best 2.1 aces per contest for the regular season champion Chill. Berg, one of the premier setters in the league, amassed a league-high 37 aces in 18 regular season matches. In 20 total matches this season (including playoffs), Berg, a USPV Player Of The Week award recipient in Week 3, has had at least one ace in 18 of them. On four different occasions, Berg, whose jump serve has been timed in the upper 50's (MPH), totaled 4 aces in a match and had a streak earlier in the season where she served at least one ace in 12 straight matches. She has also recorded five double-doubles this season (double digits in two statistical categories). Minnesota is currently deadlocked at 1-1 in a best-of-3 semifinal series with Grand Rapids. The deciding Match 3 will be played Wednesday, April 24 in Rochester, Minn. at the Mayo Civic Center Auditorium. The winner advances to the USPV Championship to face Chicago in a best-of-5 series.
