Robin Reynolds Named
Public Relations And Communications Director
For Family Circle Tennis Center And Tournament
CHARLESTON SC (August 1, 2002) Frankie
Whelan, Executive Director of the Family Circle Tennis Center and Family
Circle Cup, announced today that Robin Reynolds will join the staff as
Public Relations and Communications Director, effective immediately.
Reynolds who has served as public relations consultant for the Family
Circle Cup since 1994 will lead the public relations and communications
efforts not only for the Family Circle Cup but also for the Family
Circle Tennis Center.
"Robin brings a high level of
commitment and a deep understanding of women's tennis to our
staff," stated Whelan. "She is a valuable addition to the
Family Circle Cup team and we look forward to integrating her expertise
and ideas into our tennis community."
With over 22 years experience in the
professional sports, fitness and recreation industry, Reynolds brings a
wealth of expertise to the facility and tournament. Prior to this new
appointment, Reynolds was President of R&R Dreams, Inc. a full
service sports and special events consulting firm. In that role, she has
worked with numerous clients including the Sanex WTA Tour, USA Network,
Turner Sports and other professional tennis tournaments. Since 1994, she
has served in various roles as a consultant for the WTA Tour (the
professional tennis tour for women) including interim Director of
Communications from the fall of 1995 to July 1996. Prior to founding
R&R Dreams, Inc., Reynolds worked for the WTA Tour as a
Communications Manager and Marketing Coordinator over an eight-year
period.

The 2003 Family Circle Cup, owned and
operated by Family Circle magazine, will be held April 5-13 at the
Family Circle Tennis Center in Charleston, South Carolina. This year the
tournament celebrated 30 years in women's professional tennis and during
the week over 90,000 fans were entertained by some of the biggest stars
in women's tennis including Jennifer Capriati, Serena Williams, Anna
