Indiana Thunder
Rolling Into South Bend!
SOUTH BEND IN (December 5, 2002) The
National Women's Football Association has changed the name and owners of
the women's football team in South Bend. The Indiana Thunder is
Indiana's entry in the NWFA.
ERJUM Sports, LLC has purchased the
license for the Indiana Thunder. Margaret McCain, Eva Jones-Young, Jane
Levenhagen and Regina Williams will share the responsibilities of
running the Thunder.
Tryouts for the Thunder will be held
Saturday, December 14th at 6:00pm at the YMCA, South Bend, IN. All
participants must be at least 18 and have their own health insurance.
There is a one time $35.00 try out fee.
The National Women's Football
Association is the largest full contact football league in the world for
women. The league, which started in 2000 with only one team, had ten
teams play in 2001 and 21 teams in the 2002 season. The 2003 season,
which begins on April 12, 2003, will have 30 teams competing. The
interest in the league is so high that many cities are requesting team
licenses for the 2004 season!
The league also has a new website
address: www.womensfootballcentral.com. The website is so popular that
it regularly receives more than 2 million hits per month.
