“Draft at Basketball Hall of Fame – Huge Success!”
Springfield, MA: The National Women’s
Basketball League (NWBL ) Pro League held it’s draft for the 2003
season today, Saturday December 7, 2002, at the coveted Basketball Hall
of Fame in Springfield, MA. The six NWBL franchise teams representing
the Houston STEALTH; Chicago BLAZE; Birmingham POWER; Springfield
SPIRIT; Tennessee FURY and Grand Rapids BLIZZARD, drafted some of the
best professional players in the nation in the three-hour timed draft.
The NWBL heads into it’s 3rd season in 2003, with teams playing a
highly competitive schedule from February 1 to April 13, 2002.
