WUSA's
Chastain’s Surgery Successful SAN
JOSE CA (February 21, 2002) – Brandi
Chastain, captain of the WUSA champion San Jose CyberRays, underwent
successful arthroscopic knee surgery today and is expected back in preseason
training within three to four weeks. Chastain had a small tear in the medial meniscus – a cartilage structure – in her left knee removed at 9 a.m. Walking on crutches with her knee in an elastic bandage, she visited team offices at CyberRays Tower early in the afternoon with her mother Lark early in the afternoon but didn’t stay long. ``I’m off to the mall,’’ she said.
