FIVB Women's
Semifinals Decided
MONTREAL, CANADA (July 13,2002) The
first all American semifinal of the FIVB World Tour Open here in
Montreal between Kerri Walsh/Misty May and Holly McPeak/ Elaine Youngs
on Saturday went to the current holders of the Speedo Gold Tops,
Walsh-May. They defeated their compatriots 2-1 (18-21, 21-14, 15-12) to
advance to the final.
The second semifinal went to Adriana
Behar-Shelda of Brazil, who pulled of a victory over the Gold Medallists
from Sydney 2000, Australians Natalie Cook and Kerri Pottharst 2-1
(20-22, 21-13, 15-6). The losers now play for the bronze medal.
