Career Division of
Women'Sports Services to Expand
HUNTINGTON BEACH CA
(October 14, 2002) Women'Sports Services, the parent company of
WomenSportsJobs.com & WomenSportsCareers.com, has announced it will
commit additional resources to the area of career development in 2003.
According to Mary Lou Youngblood, COO,
the company's online career center has grown at a continuous and healthy
pace since its inaugural launch in September of 2000. "Based on the
interest in our career services and the growing need to support the
retention of women in sports related careers, we felt the time was right
for our company to make this move," said Youngblood.
The company's unique and creative
websites provide a multitude of new services for both the sports
industry job seeker and the employer. Job seeker services include a
nationwide database of job listings, career seminars, resume rewriting
services and career consultation. Employer services range from job
postings, job blast services, access to a female-targeted resume bank,
customized candidate searching and employer diversity partnership
opportunities.
The websites have become an
"online matchmaking hub" for both female job seekers and
sports industry employers. Over 5,000 new resumes are being submitted
monthly by individual qualified female candidates interested in sports
related careers. Areas of concentration include, sales & marketing,
public relations, new media, health & fitness, coaching, athletic
administration and a variety of other sports related fields. The company
also plans to provide additional services for female athletes in 2003.
"There is no reason an employer
should not be able to find a qualified female candidate to fill their
sports related positions. The women are available, interested and
qualified," says Becky Heidesch, Founder & CEO, Women'Sports
Services.
Women'Sports Services, launched in 1995
with the Women'Sports Wire and Women'Sports Job Wire, currently manages
the online career centers, WomenSportsJobs.com and
WomenSportsCareers.com.
